#6 Skrevet Juli 4, 2009 Passat Resetting the service interval display "service OIL" is shown on trip recorder display. - Switch ignition off. - Press the "trip" reset knob and switch ignition on (while the "trip" reset knob still is down). - Release the "trip" reset knob. - Turn clock adjusting knob to right. (If instrument cluster has an analogue clock, pull adjustment knob out) - Service shown on trip recorder is reset and three dashes (---) appear on display. - Switch ignition off. (Switching ignition off cancels display for service) Service interval display is now reset Audi A4 Service Reminder Indicator (SRI), resetting after service (without VAG1551/1552) After performing service, the respective Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) must be reset. The Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) can be reset using the "Adaptation" function of the VAG1551 scan tool Additionally, the SRI can be reset using the following method: Switch ignition off. Press odometer and instrument cluster reset buttons while switching ignition on. The following will appear on the odometer display: "OIL" (m.y. 1997) or "service OIL" (m.y. 1998 ) The following will appear on the odometer display: "- - -" (m.y. 1997) or "service - - -" (m.y. 1998 ). Pull clock button until "OIL" or "service OIL" are reset. Press odometer reset button again advance to next service event. The following will appear on the odometer display: "INSP" (m.y. 1997) or "service INSP" (m.y. 1998 ). Pull clock button until "INSP" or "service INSP" are reset. The following will appear on the odometer display: "- - -" or "service - - -". Switch ignition off. A4 Preface: This procedure is to function with all A4's starting from model year ' 95! From own experience I know that it is not e.g. with my A4 the case! . The reset key for the trip odometer ( 2 ) in the instrument panel employment press and the ignition on at the same time switch. In the display of the trip odometer ( 3 )"service oil " appears. Release the key. Pull the reset knob for the time ( 1 ) in the instrument panel employment to approx. 2 sec. whereby " service oil " are put back Note: Dependent on the manufacturer of the instrument panel employment the announcement stops " seviceOEL " in the display of the trip odometer (Nippon Seiki) or it appears " -- " (VDO). By renewed pressing of the reset key of the trip odometer ( 2 ) one arrives at the next service event. Release the key. In the display of the trip odometer "service in FR " appears. Pull the reset knob for the time ( 1 ) in the instrument panel employment to approx. 2 sec. whereby " service in FR " are put back Note: Dependent on the manufacturer of the instrument panel employment the announcement "service in FR " stops in the display of the trip odometer (Nippon Seiki) or it appears " -- " (VDO).
